Troy Subdistrict--Summary Report
Provisional streamflow conditions at sites monitored and included in this report in
eastern New York were in the normal to deficient range. The percent of median flow
decreased from April to May at all these sites. The lowest provisional period-of-record
minimum monthly mean discharge for May was recorded at East Branch Delaware River at
Margaretville (123 cfs - previous = 129 cfs - 64 years), Beaver Kill at Cooks Falls
(222 cfs - previous = 224 cfs - 87 years), and West Branch Delaware River at Walton
(180 cfs - previous = 190 cfs - 50 years). Also, a new provisional period-of-record
minimum daily discharge (affected by regulation) for May was recorded at Mohawk River
at Cohoes (129 cfs on May 2 - previous = 408 cfs in 1941).
Ithaca Subdistrict--Summary Report
Provisional streamflow conditions at sites monitored and included in this report
for western New York were in the normal range at Cattaraugus Creek at Gowanda and
Tonawanda Creek at Batavia. Monitored sites at Susquehanna River at Conklin, Unadilla
River at Rockdale, Chemung River at Chemung, Chenango River at Chenango Forks, Genesee
River at Wellsville, Oatka Creek at Garbutt, and Fall Creek near Ithaca were in the
deficient range after being excessive the previous month. Allegheny River at Salamanca
also was deficient after previously being in the normal range.
Coram Subdistrict--Summary Report
Mean flow at Connetquot Brook near Central Islip was in the normal range after two
consecutive months in the excessive range.

The observation-well network generally reflects conditions in water-table sand and gravel
aquifers and does not necessarily reflect conditions in confined and bedrock aquifers.
Water levels in N1259, N1616, Q1249, Sa-1100, S1806, and S1810 have been affected by changes
in ground-water withdrawals or sewering.
