U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, WRD New York District, Troy, NY WATER RESOURCES REVIEW AND CURRENT CONDITIONS STATEMENT FOR SEPTEMBER 1998 Prepared October 2, 1998 Troy Subdistrict--Summary Report Provisional streamflow conditions at sites monitored and included in this report in the northeastern part of the state were in the normal range after three consecutive months in the excessive range. Provisional mean flows for the remaining sites in eastern New York included herein were in the deficient range. The percent of median flow decreased at all sites and Schoharie Creek at Prattsville and Beaver Kill at Cooks Falls were in the deficient range for the second consecutive month. Ithaca Subdistrict--Summary Report Provisional mean flows in western New York for the month of September were in the normal range at Susquehanna River at Conklin, Chemung River at Chemung, Tonawanda Creek at Batavia, and Oatka Creek at Garbutt. Streamflow for Allegheny River at Salamanca decreased into the deficient range from the pre- vious month. Genesee River at Wellsville was in the deficient range for the second consecutive month. Coram Subdistrict--Summary Report Provisional mean flow at Massapequa Creek for the month of September was in the deficient range for the second consecutive month.
